Note: Dummy collars are not provided with the Tri-Tronics collars described on the
preceeding pages. They must be purchased separately. We feel that the use of the DUMMY
collar to condition the dog to the weight and feel of the active collar PRIOR to the use of
electrical stimulation is still an essential component of the training process. As a minimum we
suggest that a dummy collar be placed on the dog several hours each day for a period of a week
and that the dummy collar be buckled on and off as frequently as convenient during that period.
Similarly, we suggest that the receiver collar itself (not activated) be placed on the dog from
time-to-time during the conditioning period. Concealment of the transmitter from the dog during
stimulation also, we believe, is important in the training process.
